The day the music died

Apologies for the absence again. This year it's not so much the summer sun that's kept me away (we've been having rain and 60 degrees for the past couple of weeks - sadness), but more the addition of a certain very cool guy to my life. But more on that at a later date. Right now, I'm having a musical crisis and I need to whine. Thank you for bearing with me...

So, as many of you know I have had a subscription to Real Rhapsody for years. Real Rhapsody is an online music subscription site that allows you to stream pretty much any kind of music you want to hear, by any artist, any album, etc. on demand. For someone like me who loves music and likes to try out new artists/genres, Rhapsody is a perfect fit. Over the past few years, there has rarely been a day that I haven't listened to music through Rhapsody. In fact, I usually work to its streaming music. The bottom line is that it has become an integral part of my life, much like TV is for others (I don't have a TV here, so perhaps some could say it's partially filled that void).

Anyway, recently Rhapsody came out with an upgrade to its software. About three days ago I began trying to install the upgrade without success. Now, that in itself wouldn't be a big deal. However, when it was attempting to install it wiped out the previous software version from my computer. So now all I have access to is a can't-be-fully-installed new Rhapsody version. Practically, what that means is that I can no longer listen to any music in Rhapsody - my music selections being seriously restricted by what CDs I actually own and have with me here.

In short: I am going mad.

I don't know how I am going to get this problem fixed, but I need to figure out something soon. Luckily, said very cool guy (see above) happened to have made me an excellent CD compilation a couple of weeks ago so I've been listening to that during my musical void. But that will only keep the madness at bay for so long. Hopefully something will work soon - I honestly don't know if I can do research/write without Beethoven playing in the background....
